Members of the third family generation, Yannis, who has studied oenology at the University of Bordeaux, France and has substantial experience in the Greek wine production, along with his brother, Nico, who is an engineer, and their father, Harissis, decided to return to Velvento and establish a new, privately owned vineyard. Eirini Zande, chemist-oenologist, is in charge of the on site management of the winery, while Petros and Efthimis are attending the vineyard with the utmost care and love.
White Straw yellow color, intense floral and fruity characters on the nose, fresh and crisp on the palate, with exotic fruits and balanced acidity. Great stylish wine, with a long crisp finish.
Rose Bright rosé color, spicy nose with red currant jelly and light earthy notes, some muscat and herbs. Dry on the palate, some bitter notes of dried herbs, red currant, dried cherries, integrated acidity and attractive finish.
Red Deep ruby color, complex aroma that combines spicy notes with mature and dried red fruits like red current and cassis. Ripe dried red currants and cassis on the palate, full-bodied, with ripe and integrated tannins, excellent balance with an aromatic and lingering aftertaste at the end.
Tsapournakos (Cabernet Franc) Dark red in color, with preserved berries and flowers on the nose composing its intense and complex bouquet. Smooth beginning on the palate with well-structured and balanced tannins, round and rich, long aromatic persistence with red berry fruit and citrus together with herbs and spicy characters. Attractive wine has substance and elegance endorsing its varietal character.
Xinomavro Deep purple in color, berries on the nose together with flowers and herbs, incorporated with earthy and spicy notes. Dried berry fruits on the palate, hint of dried tomato and herbs, vigorous integrated tannins, showing deep flavored body and great backbone and an admirable finish. A seductive wine, with classy distinctive varietal character.
Lefkotsiknias Asirtiko, Malvasia Aromatica Bright yellow color with greenish hues, intense floral citrus, pineapple and hints of honey on the nose, full bodied and rich on the palate, with ripe fruits, well-balanced acidity and a long finish.
The Kyklos wines product range includes varieties from well known wine producing regions of Greece. They are produced in collaborating wineries and bottled in Velventos. The 85 hectares vineyard, is situated between the Pieria mountains and Polyfytos lake, at an altitude of 340 meters. Its location next to the water that almost touches the vineyard (40 meters the shortest distance) is the powerful element, which makes the wines of the estate different.
The winery is equipped with visitor receptionand wine tasting facilities.
