The Venetian port of Rethymno is located in North East side of the old city.
The harbor was built by the Venetians in the 13th century. In the heart of the harbor impresses the small Venetian breakwater.
At the end of the breakwater stands the Egyptian lighthouse, which was built by the Turks in the 17th century. Around the harbor there is the possibility of mooring fishing boats and yachts.
Along the Venetian harbor there are numerous taverns, restaurants and bars.
