Khalil Agha Tower House

The medieval tower house of Khalil Agha has been standing, on the side of the central road of the village, for over four centuries. Khalil Agha was the grandfather of Kiamil Bey, the ruler of Corinth, during the time of the Turkish rule. Khalil Agha was born in that tower, which he used as his residence and as a fortress protecting his large estate. Despite the tower's ancientness, which is evident by the old-styled embrasures, its unique architectural form can still be observed and admired. During the time of the Turkish rule, a construction of vaulted rooms surrounded the tower, but unfortunately, nothing is left of them. The tower house had a cellar where wheat, raisins, rice, olive oil and other goods were stored. After the Greek War of Independence, the Khalil Agha Tower House and other similar constructions, officially passed to the village of Yellini.
