Economou Manor

This impressive manor belonging to Nikolaos Economou (a war captain during the Greek War of Independence and adjutant to General Kolokotronis) is located opposite to the church. This manor has been built around late 18th or early 19th century. Many researchers say that it had probably been a fortress modified into a manor. 

The construction is rectangular, it has two stories and the roof of its basement is vaulted. The construction had defensive walls all around it but only the circular lookout, carrying embrasures, have survived to our day. 

In the middle floor, silver and bronze cooking and serving utensils used at that time as well as two Flobert guns, are being displayed. On the upper floor, they keep the historical archive of the family, photographs, medals, honorary awards, historical official documents, architectural designs of the first three houses in Goura and a hand copied Bible of the 19th century. The wooden internal staircase of the manor is decorated with two large swords.
