On the ancient plain of Oia, in the island of Santorini, the winery of DOMAINE SIGALAS can be found. Here, the most vibrant variety of the Mediterranean zone, the Santorini Assyrtiko as well as the Aidani, Athiri, Mandilaria and the Mavrotragano are put to the best use possible, and with the proper respect to their organoleptic characteristics, the quality wines are produced which receive acclaim in international competitions, both in Greece and abroad.
Santorini Dry White Wine
Straw blonde colour, with light shades of green and a subtle nose of citrus fruit. Excellent structure with a depth of flavor and an acidity which brings the flavors to the fore and adds freshness, with a lasting after-taste.
Vinsanto Naturally Sweet Wine
Bright orange-golden color. Rich and complex aroma with dominant scents of dried and sugared fruits. Exquisite structure, acidity and finesse, with a strong aftertaste.
Santorini Barrel Dry White Wine
Bright gold and blonde color, with discreet presence of wood with hints of citrus fruits, full and round refreshing taste with balance, good acidity and long aftertaste with a characteristic minerality, typical of the variety, at it's very best.
Kavalieros Dry White Wine
Bright, straw blonde colour, with golden hues Complex metallic nose, with intense aromas of citrus fruit (ripe lemon), accompanied by hints of herbs and citrus flowers. Rich body, refreshing acidity and long aftertaste, where minerality dominates.
Mavrotragano Dry Red Wine
Deep red colour, aroma of spices and red fruit. Rich and gentle tannins, balanced acidity and complex after-taste.
Nychteri Dry White Wine
Yellow colour, with golden hues. Complex nose, with aromas of ripe citrus, honeysuckle, nuts and pronounced minerality. It is a full-bodied wine, with complex flavours, balance and some residual sugar, which give a special character to the wine.
Assyrtiko-Athiri Dry White Wine
Colour straw blonde, bright, with a nose of ripe citrus fruit. With refreshing acidity and a delightful after-taste.
Aidani White, dry wine
Yellow, with golden hues. Aromatic, with hints of tropical fruit, flower blossom and herbs.
Ean Dry rosé wine
Aromas of red fruit and flowers can be dinstinquished. Full body and sweetness. Rich mouth with refreshing acidity. Soft tannins and long-tasting aftertaste.
Apiliotis Red Naturally Sweet Wine
Deep and rich red colour, with the proper balance between sugars, tannins and acidity. With a vibrant and complex after-taste.
Mavrotragano - Mandilaria Dry Red Wine
Deep crimson colour, refreshing scent of red fruit, a bouquet of finely blended aromas, tannins and acidity.
Apoplous Red dry wine
Red colour with red fruit in the nose. Exquisite structure, full body and acidity that adds freshness. Hints of green pepper and spices. Mineral aftertaste.
Sigalas Prickly Pear Spirit
The aromatic characteristics of Prickly Pear create a complex taste of ripe tropical fruits, spices and sweet herbs. Smooth, velvety texture with full body and long lasting aftertaste.
The winery is open to the public and the visitor can tour the areas and become acquainted with the taste of the Santorini wines as well as sample the culinary delights of the Cyclades, since there is a wine tasting room which can hold as many as 40 guests.
The guests are also given a tour of the winery where they are informed of all the stages necessary to produce the wines, and of course are offered the opportunity to sample the wines of the estate, as well as sample the culinary delights of the Cyclades, learning of the varieties of the Santorini viticultural region while delighting in the serenity and colour of the island. The winery can also arrange for dinners to be served for 4–10 guests, where the wines of Sigalas Estate are complimented by traditional Cycladic delicacies.
The wine tasting area that is located in the middle of the vineyard is available for weddings. There is a possibility of music with D.J or live traditional islander music, until 3 P.m.
