Domaine Biblia Chora is situated on the slopes of mount Pangeon at Kokkinochori, Kavala. In 1998, Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovassiliou created a vineyard of biological cultivation which today extends to over 350 acres. Within this stretch of land is the modern winery in which the wines of the Domaine are produced. The philosophy of the winemaking focuses on the production of high quality wine that is bind by the ecosystem of mount Pangeon and expresses the uniqueness of the natural surroundings.
White: A gentle, yellow-green colour of remarkable clarity. The marriage of the cosmopolitan and fragrant Sauvignon with the Greek Assyrtiko produces a wine with a powerful aroma redolent of exotic fruit, peach and citrus. A rich, cool and beautifully balanced flavour, pleasant acidity and a lasting, fragrant aftertaste.
Rose: A lively and vivid pomegranate colour. The rich aroma of ripe red fruit like morello cherries, bilberry and strawberry, with some notes of piquant spices are the characteristics produced by this unique variety as it grows on the slopes of Mt. Pangeon.
Red: A deep purple in colour, the wine matured for about 12 months in new oak barrels from France. It has pure and complex bouquet of ripe red fruit, caramel, cedar, chocolate and some spicy notes on the finish.
Plagios White: A distinguished wine with a yellow green colour shot through with rays of gold. Intense aromas of hazelnut praline, yellow fruit with vanilla notes, honey and nuts.
Plagios Red: An extraordinary wine with intense red colour that matures for 16 months in new oak barrels. Intense aromas of red fruit, chocolate, cedar wood and roasted nuts.
Areti White: A special wine with a light greenish yellow hue. The distinct aroma underlines the high note of citrus and lemon blossom, typical of the Assyrtiko variety. Rich, fruity and pleasantly acidic taste, fat and extremely well balanced.
Areti Red: The first successful attempt to make an Agiorgitiko wine outside Nemea. A deep ruby wine of limited production matured for 12 months in new oak casks. Its rich cherry aroma-typical of the variety- combines wonderfully with vanilla, cedar wood and spice notes.
Ovilos white: A wine, yellow-green in colour that matures in oak for 8 months. The distinctive aroma of apricot and honey- a characteristic of Semillon- blends perfectly with the notes of citron and lemon from the north-aegean Assyrtiko. A variety of recognizable, distinct aroma integrated with hints of vanilla and dry nuts, elegant, fat with a well balanced acidity structure that results in potential for ageing.
Ovilos Red: A wine variety from a unique slope of the Domaine. A deep ruby wine that matures in brand new French oak casks for 18 months and is kept under ideal conditions in the underground cellars of the winery for another 2 years. Complex, clear red fruit, caramel, cedar wood and chocolate aroma with nut and spice notes.
Glykis white: Later harvested than the rest, this wine has a bright golden colour with an exotic and spicy sense of smell. Thanks to its balance between acidity and its unique remainder of sweetness, Glykis feels fresh and elegant. With the characteristic aromas of lychees, roses and orange blossoms it enslaves you with its balance, aroma and longevity.
