It is impressive that in such a small town we find important buildings and sculptures, statues and busts. This points to Dimitsana’s prosperity and historical role in the past centuries.
- STATUE OF PATRIARCH GREGORIOS V
A gift from national benefactor G. Maraslis. At its base the sign says that ‘this statue is of Gregorios, the Patriarch, whose homeland was Dimitsana and who left an eternal legacy behind as he gave his life for Greece, which was a country fighting for her freedom’.
- STATUE OF PALAION PATRON GERMANOS
A bronze statue, of rare technical quality, created in Italy, with funds from the Panhellenic Fund. It was placed in the area of Kallithea, a little way outside Dimitsana, and carries a sign, which can be freely translated as ‘This shepherd pointed to a star of freedom…’
The busts of the Archbishop of Thessaloniki, Iosif Antonopoulos, of Nikolaos Makris, National Benefactor and grand Benefactor of Dimitsana, of Dimitrios Papoulias, Benefactor.
