In the location of Kefalari Ai Gianniou, at a distance of 2km to the west we find one of the most important museums of traditional technology in Europe. The fall of water from a height was exploited for centuries for traditional types of craft works, which resulted in various workshops of pre-industrial technology being remodeled to be used as flour-mills, fulling mills, tanneries, gunpowder mills. In order to create this museum a series of scientific studies of a historical and a folklore type were carried out; studies that were required for the verification of the activities and the areas. The visual material presented (videos and wall-signs), combined with the information offered by the representatives of the museum, offer the visitor the opportunity to learn about the techniques that are almost becoming obsolete in Greece.
The workshops of the past, restored by the Cultural and Technological Institute ETVA (Piraeus Bank), illustrate the production of flour, the washing of textiles, the processing of leather and the production of gunpowder.
