The restaurant Stamatis it’s a family business when it began operating since 1965 when Stamatis and Helen decided to build on the picturesque bay of Groikos in front of the sea a small tavern, the only one in the area and one of the first on the island. Groikos back then was a place for relaxation for the locals from Chora and Scala to enjoy the sea at summer, fishermen, and sailboats anchor on the beautiful and quiet bay. The purpose of Stamatis and Helen was to treat their friends, tourists and fishermen with homemade cooked food. Now responsible is the son of Stamatis Stavros and his wife Athena with their children. Since then Helen still impresses the guests with her cooking and established the restaurant as one of the best on the island. Special plates that you must taste such as: mousakas, local goat with red sauce and spaghetti, rabbit stew, eggplant imam, traditional Easter soup, taramosalata. Also you can find fresh fish and grilled.
