You can reach this pristine, almost intact either through the waymarked foot trail that begins from Kampos or by taking the boat service from Kini. The bay aroung Grammata beach is so calm, that the vessels that visit it usually don't have to drop anchor in order to reach the land. This bay has been a secure haven for sailors or shipwrecked castaways which have left inscriptions on the rocks (dating since the Hellenistic and Roman period, and some more recent), praising the gods for saving them.
