Gorgona Panagia

This statue is installed on a central part of Kini beach. It is a brass statue created by Ghiorgos Ksenoulis and it is dedicated to the people who were lost at sea. It is a natural size representation of Virgin Mary as mermaid sitting on a reef, holding the body of a sailor in her arms. Every year, a memorial ceremony is held by the sailing club of Kini, in honor of those who perished at sea.
