Agathopes, the most beautiful developed beach of the island is located in the cove of a scenic sandy bay by the deep blue sea. The landscape has an exotic allure, created by the narrow strip of sand stretching in the sea, offering a nice, serene swimming spot. This beach is about 1 km / half a mile away from Posidonia, opposite to the islets of Schinonisi and Stroghilo. In summer, sea daffodils grow on the sand, making the seascape even more beautiful. In springtime, the critically endangered Mediterranean monk seal finds shelter in this beach, to give birth to its cubs.
Agathopes is protected by northern winds during summer and its waters are calm and safe. One can have scuba diving courses in this beach.
