Mesa Vathi

Vathy is located on the north-east part of the island. It is 21km from Chora. Access to Vathy is relatively easy and is achieved by car, using an accessible dirt-road.

Nowadays, Vathy is one of the island’s most sparsely populated communities, as there is only a total of 3-4 families living there; families that are connected to activities in the area.

During the 60s the area had more inhabitants, as there used to be a primary school there.

Also, in the past, there were limekilns that employed more than 25 individuals.
