Kea or Tzia is considered to be “The gate of the Cyclades”, as it connects Central Greece to the Cyclades and separates the Archipelagos from the South Euboean Gulf. Kea is the northernmost island of the West Cyclades and the closest island to Attiki. It is just 16 miles from Lavrio, with which it is linked daily by ferry boats.
The fact that the island is so close to Athens established Kea as one of the most popular tourist destinations, throughout the year, not only for many Athenians but also for all those who search for weekend escapes or for longer holidays.
