The Criminology Museum belongs to and functions in the grounds of the Faculty of Medicine of the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens, in accordance to the terms of law 5343/1932.
The Museum is a non-profit institution, providing services to the community, while its main purpose is the multi-level support of the Faculties of Medicine and Law, as well as the Police Academies, for the purpose of educating students and staff.
Its collections are in great part very old, the result of a long term, heavy task of raising, by the distinguished Forensic Medicine professors.
The museum is housed under an appropriately arranged space in the building of the Laboratory of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, at the University of Athens.
The Criminology Museum is a centre for training, research, culture, study, promotion and scientific development, as well as artistic activity, beyond its self-evident educational and pedagogic function.
Visiting
Due to the nature of its exhibits, the Criminology Museum is open to the public, only after the authorization of the Museum Director, assistant professor Mr. C.Maravelias.
