During the period of Italian rule (1912-1945) a “Golgotha” was built: this was a series of shrines with relief scenes of the Passion, which leads from the square to the west edge of the plateau of the Philerimo hill and to the Cross of Filerimos which is 18 meters tall and has a magnificent view.
