The church of Agios Georgios of the Armenians is located in the historic neighbourhood known as Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), which during the years of Ottoman rule called "small market".
Agios Georgios church was built during the Second Byzantine period and was ceded to the Armenians who had settled in Heraklion at that time.
Today, the church is an Armenian church dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
